Organizational Consultation Services
Our organizational consultation services provide leaders with the information, guidance, and support they need to develop and implement successful talent management programs. These services include identifying core leadership competencies, creating meaningful succession plans, and developing practical performance management processes. We also provide services that enhance existing organizational programs including team training — such as conflict management and communication improvement programs, facilitating group coaching exercises that support new initiatives, and programs to help Executives and Professionals better understand the personalities of key stakeholders and how to leverage this knowledge to create more productive relationships. We utilize the most relevant research available to ensure that talent management programs are designed and implemented to achieve the best outcomes possible.
Team Development Workshops
Effective Teams:
Team members will explore different types of teams and evaluate which fits best with their team goals. They will also discuss the different stages a team can experience and the implications of these stages. Participants will engage in activities that help them assess their performance against key factors that distinguish effective from ineffective teams. Based on their conclusions, the team will create a plan to strengthen their overall performance.
Team Dynamics:
Since teams are made up of individuals, each person brings his or her own work style preferences to a team and will often use these preferences to evaluate, or sometimes judge, others’ actions. In this workshop, teams will explore individual work style preferences, as well as their team profile. The team profile helps the team highlight their strengths as a team and uncover potential blind-spots. The insights that participants gain about their own and others’ work style preferences will serve to boost productivity and enhance collaboration within the team.
Team Trust:
Most people believe trust is foundational to strong team performance. However, trust is often talked about in an ambiguous, all-or-nothing way. In this workshop, teams will learn a practical way to think about trust by exploring the underlying components of trust and how these can help or hinder our ability to influence and engage with others. Participants will investigate potential team trust gaps, identify where they have opportunities, and define new strategies and action plans to strengthen trust and improve work relationships.
Mastering Conflict:
It is rare and somewhat risky for teams not to experience some level of conflict. Many people see conflict as unpleasant and counterproductive, in part because they do not understand the intent or strategy behind others’ actions. In this workshop, participants will learn about the various approaches to managing conflict and how each can promote or hinder resolution, and identify their own preferred style. Participants will experiment with new approaches to managing conflict and will gain greater understanding of how strategically applying these approaches can reduce unproductive work tension, support quicker resolution, and lead to greater team cohesiveness and improved output.
Improving Communication:
“Better communication” is often cited as an area for improvement in many teams and organizations. Having coaching conversations, providing constructive feedback, and accountability discussions are critical skills for leaders. Team members also need to be able to navigate potentially difficult conversations productively. In this workshop, participants will learn and practice communication fundamentals that can improve their ability to effectively convey important messages, influence others’ actions, and contribute to others’ development.
Navigating Change:
Navigating change in complex and fluid work environments has become an essential skill for leaders and teams. The framework for change used in this workshop is based on an integration of the best ideas from many years of change research. Participants will walk through the four major elements of change, exploring both business and human aspects of the process. A pragmatic yet comprehensive guide to change management will be provided, and participants will apply this framework to real world situations to gain a stronger understanding of factors that impact the acceptance of and support for change.
Building Resilience:
Given the daily challenges that leaders and teams face in today’s world, the ability to thrive under pressure and recover quickly from setbacks have become increasingly critical capabilities. Fortunately, these capabilities can be learned and strengthened. In this workshop, leaders and teams explore the key elements of resilience along with strategies to build personal and team resilience. Participants will assess their own resilience capabilities, practice new skills, create a Personal Resiliency Plan, and learn new approaches to enhance their team’s resilience.
Motivation Strategies:
In this workshop, leaders and teams will learn what research tells us really motivates people. Going beyond the “carrot and stick” theory of motivation, participants will explore alternative strategies to engage and inspire others. They will learn what approaches work best with different types of people and in various work situations, as well as what tends to demotivate people. Participants will create a Motivational Strategy Plan to help build energy and commitment within a team and across the organization.
